Swallowed magnets can damage internal organs and have resulted in death and serious injury. Twiddler Toys magnetic balls must be kept away from children and should never be put near the nose or mouth. Seek immediate medical attention or contact the poison control center immediately if you think magnets were swallowed.
How should magnetic balls be safely played with?
Magnetic balls should be played with safely out of reach from children. After playing with them, you should store them in the carrying case that comes in every set. Make sure to collect all magnets when you’re finished using them and they are not stored in a place easily accessible to children. Magnetic balls should also be kept away from all hard drives, pets, and pacemakers.
Are magnetic balls banned?
There was a ban on magnet balls from 2014 to November 2016. In September 2014, while the Zen Magnets recall case was still pending, the CPSC enacted an all ages nationwide ban on sales, manufacturing, and importation on all sets of high powered magnet spheres in the US. Zen Magnets LLC challenged the CPSC "safety standard" in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and won.
